Position Summary

Assists in oversight and leadership within assigned area of responsibility. Duties may include: assists in the management of the overall operational, budgetary, and financial responsibilities and activities; plans and allocates resources to effectively staff and accomplish the work to meet productivity and quality goals; makes business decisions that are financially responsible, accountable, justifiable, and defensible in accordance with organization policies and procedures; reviews performance data that includes quality, satisfaction, engagement, and financial reports; monitors and measures productivity, goal achievement, and overall effectiveness; participates in the preparation and maintenance of reports necessary to carry out the functions of the area of responsibility; prepares periodic reports for management, as necessary or requested, to track goal accomplishment; leads colleagues using performance management and development process that provides an overall context and framework to encourage colleague contribution.  Primary duty includes managing department and regularly directing the work of at least two or more employees. Supervisory authority includes authority to hire, transfer, suspend, layoff, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, discipline, responsibly direct or adjust grievances.

 

Education

Bachelors-Required

Bachelors degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience is required. Bachelors degree in Accounting or Business is preferred.

 

Experience

3 Year(s)-Management-Required

Demonstrated proficiency in credit/collection procedures including knowledge of State and Federal laws; a working knowledge about third party payors and reimbursement mechanisms and process; general knowledge of accounting principles and computer technology; communication skills to effectively motivate staff and maintain customer relations with customers; and the management ability to achieve the goals and objectives of the Business Office; Strong organizational and task prioritizing skills; competent decision making, problem solving, and leadership skills; excellent human relation skills, flexibility, patience, tact and good judgement required.

 

Certifications, Licenses and Registrations

Certification in Patient Account Management from Healthcare Financial Management Association or American Association of Healthcare Administrative Management (AAHAM) is desirable.
