Job Description

Unix/Linux system administrator position responsible for installation, configuration, monitoring and maintenance of multiple server hardware environments including application software running under AIX and/or Linux operating systems. 

  • Help tune performance and ensure high availability of infrastructure
  • Analyze and resolve issues associate with server hardware and software as well as application software
  • Design and develop infrastructure monitoring and reporting tools
  • Develop and maintain configuration management solutions
  • Develop test automation frameworks in collaboration with rest of the team
  • Create tools to help teams make the most out of the available infrastructure
  • Experience with AIX and/or Linux operating systems in virtual environments
  • Familiarity with the fundamentals of scripting languages
  • Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining services in AIX and/or Linux environments
  • Strong grasp on configuration management tools
  • Familiarity with load balancing, networking tools, high availability, storage, backup and restore utilities
  • Ability to work independently as well collaborate with other analysts and teams during projects
  • Ability to communicate with application software vendors, hardware/software support, as well as provide updates to management teams as required 
  • This position will serve as part of the Technology Product Line within the HSHS Information and Technology Services Infrastructure team.
  • Candidates will be assigned an appropriate level at the time of offer. Levels are assigned based on a candidate’s level of education and relevant experience and taking into consideration internal equity.
  • If applicable, HSHS will provide Epic certification support for candidates who are not already certified.
  • The employment of candidates hired to positions requiring Epic certification will be contingent upon completing the appropriate Epic module training and certification within a reasonable period of time as required for the position.
  • Evening, night and/or weekend on-call support as scheduled may be required.
  • Travel to other HSHS locations and affiliates may be required.
